The eXpress Way
eXpress Tournament Softball started in 2016 with 1 team of 10U girls. eXpress now also has teams of 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U with girls from the Ambler/Whitpain and surrounding areas as far away as Cheltenham and Souderton. We are a fun, exciting program for girls who wish to extend their playing experience beyond recreational play. We foster love of the game while being competitive. Our positive coaching approach helps players develop sound fundamental skills and increase their knowledge of how to play the game. We also pride ourselves on building character that will help them go far both on and off the field: hustle, hard work, focus, teamwork, and perseverance. We love to win too!
After tryouts, offer letters will be extended. Once players accept the offers, the rosters will be completed and the season will begin. September and October will consist of a fall season of practices and games as the team begins to come together. We take November and December off, then begin once a week intensive indoor winter workouts.
Tournaments will be April – June/July. We stay local in eastern PA and NJ, never more than a 90 minute drive. We try to schedule one tournament toward the end of the season that is a bit farther .so that the team and families can stay the weekend in a hotel. It has proven to be a ton of fun! We have had a few teams raise money and attend the national tournament in July.
Aside from being a beginner (C-level) program, we are also a non profit and our fees are less then other travel organizations (some charge close to $2000 or more). Another thing that makes us unique, is that we allow, and in fact encourage, the girls to play other sports (including recreational softball for their home club). It is common for the organizations that play at A or Elite levels to not allow that. They even go so far as to require the families to sign an agreement to that effect. We do expect that if a conflict arises with an eXpress practice, game, scrimmage or tournament, though, that eXpress is made the priority. Missing practices will affect playing time.
